What Venus reveals in your chart

Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and in traditional Western astrology it carries the principle of attraction, harmony, and value. The chart suggests that wherever Venus falls, you find your sense of beauty and the language through which you love. According to astrologer Robert Hand in Horoscope Symbols (1981), Venus describes both how you love and what you value, and the sign she occupies colors both at once. In my practice with clients, I find that Venus is often the most personally felt of the inner planets. Traditional astrology assigns each planet places of strength and challenge across the zodiac. In Pisces she is exalted, her most transcendent and compassionate expression. In Aries and Scorpio she is in detriment, and in Virgo she is in fall. It is worth emphasizing that detriment and fall are not flaws. As Demetra George reminds us, these are angles of expression rather than deficiencies.
