How do you charge crystals with the moon?
To charge crystals with the moon, place them where they catch moonlight, most commonly under the full moon, overnight. In traditional practice the new moon suits intention-setting stones and the full moon suits cleansing and amplifying. Match water-safe stones to outdoor charging; keep selenite and other soft stones dry on a windowsill.

Waxing Crescent

The waxing crescent is the gentle yes phase. Stones charged here carry a quality of patient becoming.
First Quarter
Decision, commitment, action
Marina Costelloe recommends the first quarter for charging decision-stones. The half-light/half-dark phase mirrors the choice you're being asked to make.

Full Moon
Peak, illumination, manifestation, release
Selenite at the full moon is the practitioner's classic. The full moon is when most of my collection comes out, even stones I don't usually charge benefit from one full moon a month. The exception is hematite (rusts in dew) and stones that need to be kept dry.
Waning Gibbous
Gratitude, integration, gentle release
The waning gibbous is when gratitude crystallizes. Charge your heart stones during this phase for ongoing emotional integration.
Last Quarter
Release, letting go, cleansing
Last quarter is for what needs to go. Cleanse heavy or overworked stones here, especially protection stones that have absorbed energy from your environment.
Waning Crescent
Rest, surrender, dissolution
The waning crescent is the threshold. Charge sleep and dream stones here, they receive the quality of dissolution that this phase carries.
